Parker's Baptism

Parker got baptized this past Sunday (Palm Sunday) at Lutheran Church of Hope.  I was a little worried initially because the forecast included a winter storm warning for much of Iowa.  Luckily, the snow wasn't as bad here and all the family was able to make it.  Parker wore Jaxson and Holden's outfit, which his rolls barely fit into!  His sponsors were: Aunt Stephanie, Aunt Shawndra, and Uncle Brandon.  Lil P did really well during his baptism...he even smiled and cooed while he was getting the water poured onto his head...he probably thought he was getting a bath.  So cute!!  Afterwards, we went to eat at Legends.  He got some very nice gifts for his special day.  Sis is currently hoarding all of them (the ones that aren't breakable) in her toy stash.  One of these days Parker will be able to put up a fight for them.  We are so blessed to have such a healthy, happy baby.  Welcome to God's family, Parker!!

Coloring Eggs

Easter is nearing, so we colored eggs last night.  It was Alexandria's first time and she liked it and caught on really fast.  Alexandria and daddy had a daddy-daughter evening this week on one of his nights off...he took her to the Ark (pet store) and then they did some shopping.  She came home with a Dora doll, which is now her new favorite.  It's a potty Dora...she doesn't actually go potty, but she talks about it and came with a little potty chair.  We are still working on the potty training...she is going #1 more and more in the potty.  I have a pair of Dora tennis shoes sitting on top of the fridge for her when she gets all trained...hoping that they would speed the process up.
Parker is getting more vocal these days.  He is cooing, giggling, and smiling more and more.  His smile lights up his whole face, which makes his eyes very squinty because of his HUGE cheeks.  He is sleeping through the night and is such a good baby!  He started daycare this week since I returned to work, which is going well.  We are looking forward to this weekend as Parker gets baptized on Sunday.  Happy Spring everyone!!!  Hopefully the weather will turn around soon!

Big Bug

On March 2nd Kade turned 14!!  He is growing up so fast too!  He had a friend stay overnight and we celebrated with pizza, cake and ice cream.  I made him a homemade cake with homemade frosting too.  The cake didn't look too pretty, but it tasted great!  I didn't think I was even going to get it done the night before since I had a kid with the flu, our plumber was over to work on our water heater, and trying to take care of a fussy baby...don't think he was feeling well either.  It got done though after a completely destroyed kitchen...I should have taken a picture of that!  Kade has been preparing to turn a leaf and enter the working world.  He has been working on his job application for Fareway and has also been studying for his driver's permit test.  He has also registered for his freshman year classes!
