6 month stats and some girl fun!

This past weekend mommy had a little girls night out back in the ol' Hub.  A bunch of my 96er girlfriends met up at Amber's house for a little birthday celebration...and before we knew it...Curt showed up for a piece of the fun!  We ended up going to Eddie's for further celebration and to get in on my mom's birthday party that was going on too!  It turned into a mini class reunion and it was SO fun!  It was nice to get away and have some adult fun, but I still missed my baby.  It was my first night away from her...we both survived!  While I was gone, Heath took the kids to church and from what I hear Alexandria talked up a storm the last half and was doing some flirting with the people nearby.

We took Alexandria in for her 6 month check today and found out that she now weighs 15.2 lbs. (34%) and is 26.5 in. (78%).  She continues to be our string bean.  She had to get 3 more shots today which she did not like and neither did mommy and daddy.  Mommy had to be the strong one again since daddy "had" to leave the room to get her bottle ready when the nurse came back in to poke her lil' legs.  We also found out that she STILL has her double ear infection.  So, we are now onto augmentin...hopefully it will kick it!  Heath and I were both kinda shocked that her ears weren't better because she has been acting, eating and sleeping fine.  One positive...she has become quite the pro at taking medicine...she must just think that it's part of her normal everyday routine.

These two just love to veg together.

6 Month Photo Shoot & a Roll

Our baby turned 6 months on Friday and I can't believe it!  I took a 1/2 a day off of work and we went and had her pics taken.  I was a little nervous at first because she was not smiling at all, which is totally unlike her.  The photographer even suggested rescheduling, but I did not want to do that, so I fed her and then she was ready to go!  She did pretty good considering she wasn't feeling well because of her teeth.  She did turn on the charm so we could get some good shots!

Pull up a chair, this was a long shoot.

This modeling gig is exhausting.
Let me help you adjust that camera.

Healthy plus some toofers!

Yes, I can say that we are almost all back to full health this week...I still have a slight cough as does Heath and Alexandria.  The big news this week is that Alexandria's first teeth have popped through...her 2 bottom ones.  She hasn't been too fussy, just full of slober!  Last Monday I got to stay home with her since we didn't have daycare, which was nice because I was actually feeling better and could be a fun mommy!
This past Friday Heath and his band got together for a practice.  He says things are coming together nicely....now they are trying to agree on a name for the band.  So...if anyone has any good ideas-shoot them his way!  Saturday I spent the day shopping...using my gift cards that I've been hoarding for awhile.  Heath and Alexandria got to have a daddy-daughter day and then it was vice-versa on Sunday as daddy left for awhile to do go to a job site.
Hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful weather we've been having!  It makes me ready for spring, but I have a feeling we will get blasted one more time with a winter storm.
Happy Belated Valentines Day to all of you too!!

Love is in the air.

Fevers, Virus, Double Ear Infection, Drs.....OH MY!

Yes...we have had ALL of this going on in our house this past week.  It all started on Tuesday when I left work early because I wasn't feeling right and to beat the blizzard.  I was down and out from Tuesday thru Thursday evening with a fever, sore throat, headache, and body aches...ick!  Luckily, I had planned for someone to see my patients on Wednesday for fear I wouldn't make it in due to the "storm of the century" heading our way.  It did end up being quite the blizzard with an accumulation of almost 8 inches here in Ankeny.  We didn't get hit near as bad as southeast Iowa where they got a whopping 17 inches.  Anyways, I ended up going to the Dr. on Thursday pretty much at the request of Alexandria's daycare provider...and I wanted to rule out that I didn't have influenza since Alexandria couldn't have the flu shot.  I got tested for influenza and strep, which were both negative.  As I got better towards the end of the week, Heath started feeling under the weather.  The only positive spin on being sick this past week was that my shoulder got some much needed rest too! Alexandria started with a runny nose and cough again Friday evening, so I was immediately worried about her ear infection being back.
Devon stopped by for a short visit on his way down to Des Moines on Saturday, which was nice...we even got to meet his prom date!  Saturday evening I was ready to get out of the house, so Kade, Alexandria, and I met the Cathcarts at church and then went to their house for pizza.  The boys had fun playing together and entertaining Alexandria.  Heath had to miss out on the fun since he woke up with a fever that morning.
This morning I took Alexandria to the Dr. to get her ears looked at and sure enough her double ear infection had returned.  The Dr. put her on a stronger antibiotic this time which will hopefully do the trick.  This evening we watched the first half of the Super Bowl down at the Joneses and then had to come home to get Miss Alexandria in bed.  The Jones clan took their turns holding and entertaining Alexandria...she is NEVER short on attention!  Well, I have to say that I'm happy the way the game turned out...way to go Packers!!!!!  Heath couldn't stand seeing either team on "his field" and can't wait for all the champion talk to be done with.  There is always next year, honey!?
Hopefully next week I'll have a more positive title for the blog as we get back on the road to full health.

It's hard to be so cute!
